Growing up in a large, family-oriented home, I was always surrounded by women at every stage of
motherhood. I had countless woman in my family who became pregnant, delivered their babies, and
trusted me to help care for their little ones. As a young girl, I was drawn to their stories—how they
described their pregnancies, their births, and what it meant to become a mother. I remember sitting
quietly, soaking up every word, fascinated by how each birth experience could be so different, yet their
journeys into motherhood shared so much in common.
